Dancing Tots (18-36 Months): A class for the “born-to-dance” toddler. They will explore activities in rhythm, motor skills,
song, dance and some creative play. It is a class for parent participation along with 10 minutes of play on the mountain.

Creative Dance (3-4 years): Dancers will start to learn fundamental dance elements; space, time, body, as they begin to
develop creativity through movement. They will also explore musicality, classroom etiquette, coordination and self-esteem.

Pre-Ballet/ Tap (5 years): Dancers will be introduced to basic ballet and tap steps in a creative and fun environment.
They will continue to develop musicality, classroom etiquette and self-esteem.

Ballet/ Tap (6-7 years): A combination class developed to teach dancers ballet and tap skills and vocabulary.
It’s a class that will enhance coordination, rhythm and musicality in the dancers.

Ballet/ Tap/ Jazz (6-9 years): A combination class designed to introduce the dancer to basic ballet, tap and
jazz technique and vocabulary. It will also help enhance the dancers’ coordination, musicality and self- esteem.
This class meets for an hour and a half.

Ballet/ Jazz (8+ beginner): A combination class for the new dancer; this class will teach the dancers basic ballet and
jazz technique along with vocabulary. This class will improve coordination, rhythm and self-esteem in the dancers.

Ballet/ Company Developmental (9+ advanced): A class for our advanced dancers which meets for an hour and a half.
The dancers will continue to develop their ballet and jazz technique. The dancers will also be introduced to modern technique.
This class will allow dancers to expand their knowledge of dance and build their confidence. This class is by invitation only from the Westwood Academy teachers and director.

Jazz/ Hip-Hop: A class of jazz technique infused with some hip-hop flare. Dancers will do jazz across the floor to work on skills
and then learn combinations in the center to incorporate jazz and hip-hop choreography. This is a good preparation class for
dancers wanting to take the hip-hop class.

Hip-Hop: A high energy class filled with the latest hip hop moves. Dancers will learn musicality, rhythm and isolations
as they build their self-confidence. It is recommended, but not required, for students with no jazz background to take
jazz/hip-hop before or along with taking this class.

Drill Team Prep (8th grade+): This class is designed to prepare girls to audition for high school drill team.
They will work on technique, as well as styles danced on drill teams in the area.
